Flight to New York 29th of January 1989 Arrival on Kennedy Airport Kennedy Airport Christoph is sick from driving Manhatten from far away Our first impressions from Manhattan Visit of Manhattan for the first time : World Trade Center 5th of February 1989 Slowly it's darkening In a typically American Fastfood Restaurant Our new home on Clover Lane 31 in Bloomfield / NJ 6th of February 1989 Clover Lane and our house on the right Across the street Click on it! Our trip to Sandy Hook and Toms River 12th of February 1989 Verrazano bridge from far away Bloomfield Middle School-Brookdale School- OAK View School  14th of February 1989 Stephen goes to Bloomfield Middle School Click on it! Click on it! In the first weeks Christoph and Nicolas visit Brookdale school on Broad street Click on it! Later Christoph and Nicolas change to OAK View School Click on it! Click on it! And Heini is working here in Nutley  We are awaiting the schoolbus for Christoph and Nicolas 15th of February 1989 We hoped for a typical yellow American schoolbus! Normally the kids are picked up at 8:30 am and brought back at 3:30 pm by the schoolbus. Don't fail to be ready in the morning or not to be there in the afternoon! And it's not enough, if only the door ist open when they bring back home the kids. You have to prove, that somebody is home by standing outside in front of the door! Our visit of Manhattan for the second time 19th of February 1989 On the way we pass by Hoffmann-La Roche Nutley  Highway 3 to Manhattan Lincoln Tunnel We visit the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan 19th of February 1989 Click on it! The Rockefeller Center From far away the Verrazano bridge (Staten Island NY)   Our trip to Long Island 26th of February 1989 It's possible that this was in the Robert Mosses State Park on Fire Island The first snow on Clover Lane 27th of February 1989 Click on it! Click on it! Click on it! Click on it! Our backyard Heini comes home from work The kids 27th of February 1989 Herzlich Willkommen in Amerika!
