Joshua Tree Joy's Restaurant Death Valley Death Valley National Park (Nevada) to Bishop (California) Zabriskie Point 689 feet above sea level (210 meters) The location was named after Christian Zabriskiem vice president and general manager of the Pacific Coast Borad Company in the early 20th century. The company's famous, iconic twenty-mule teams were used to transport borax from its mining operations in the Death Valley Joshua trees About 100 feet below sea level! Stovepipe Wells Townes-Pass (4956 feet/1511m)  We pass Lone Pine (with the Motel Mt. Whitney, where my brother Urs and Margrit and I stay over night in 2010) We arrive in Bishop and everybody is happy. No driving anymore for today! Early in the morning Heini goes on the John Muir Trail in the Yosemite Park. It's Heini's birthday! We have 7°C in the mobilhome! We arrive in the Yosemite National Park Tioga Pass 9945 geet / 3031 m Near Headquater Yosemite NP (Village/Housekeeping Camp) 14th of August 1989 Half Dome El Capitan Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, Yosemite National Park 14th of August 1989 The Grizzly Giant sequoia We stay in Oakhurst RV Park over night Mariposa, once known as gold-digger city On the way to Monterey (California) 15th of August 1989 Monterey on the North Passific Ocean (California)  15th of August 1989 It was quite cold and we had to wear warm jackets  Seacliff State Beach near Santa Cruz (California) 16th of August 1989 The Palo Alto  Concret feighter Over night we stay in the Cotilion Garden Recidentional Vehicel Park in Santa Cruz On the coast-line to San Francisco 17th of August 1989 Ano Nuevo State Reserve and the sea elephants (California) 17th of August 1989
